What are the league fees?

League fees are determined annually and announced at the Fall Kickoff meeting, which generally takes place during the second full week of September. The kickoff meeting is attended by the GVAHA VP House Hockey, or a designated agent.

Who pays the league fees?

This is handled by the GVAHA Treasurer.  The GVAHA Board will discuss payment of ADRAY fees at the September Board meeting.

Each team will receive two practice sheets of ice per week and 12 -13 home game sheets of ice depending on level. Additionally, players registered with GVAHA receive one Power Skating session per week as scheduled by the Hockey Directors.

If the rink closes on a given day for weather or other reasons, practices scheduled on those days will be made up. If the Head Coach cancels practice, that ice time will not be made up.

The Rink Manager will provide the Hockey Directors a block of game ice. The Hockey Directors will assign teams game times from this block of ice. If the House Team needs to change any game ice time for some reason, they will need to contact the Hockey Directors who will then coordinate with the Rink Manager. 

Game play can begin the weekend following the scheduling meeting. All League Play must be completed by the end of the last full week in January.

Since participation in the ADRAY League tournament is required, GVAHA has incorporated the cost per player in the registration fees to reduce the burden of having to collect payment during prior to the tournament deadlines. As a result, GVAHA will pay make payment for all of the House Teams.  

House players at the Squirt (10U) level, or at another level where there are enough registered players to create two (2) or more teams are evaluated on performance in a series of timed drills during the first 2 practice sessions of the season. The times are averaged and the players are ranked, based on the average times (Lowest average time receiving the best rating).

Players are ranked into equal size groups by ranking, then arranged by birth year. Coaches select teams during a draft that takes place following evaluations. The same draft rules have been used by GVAHA since the inception of the association.
