West Michigan Pro Hockey School August 1-5, 2016
A message from West Michigan Pro Hockey School….
Hello Grand Valley Stars Hockey Youth Association players and parents!
My name is Ben Warda, owner and head instructor of West Michigan Pro Hockey School. We are very proud to continue our growth throughout West Michigan announcing our summer training camp coming to your home arena, Georgetown Ice Arena from August 1-5, 2016 this upcoming summer! I want to personally thank GVAHA’s Hockey Director Jack Williams along with rink Manager Mike Hatkowski for teaming up with us to put on this great event for you players.
To give you a brief background of myself, I’m currently in my third season playing professional hockey overseas in Germany after a successful college career at Western Michigan University under Head coaches Jeff Blashill (Detroit Red Wings Head coach) and NHL veteran Head coach Andy Murray, winning a CCHA Championship my Junior year. I played 2 years of Junior hockey under current Tampa Bay Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper winning back-to-back national championships.
I’ve had the privilege to play for some of the best coaches in the world as they have taught me what it takes to succeed and improve as much as possible, which I am very proud and passionate towards passing this on to my players at camp. I grew up playing my youth hockey in the Detroit area where hockey is the mecca.
Unfortunately, due to the outrageous number of players in such a small area, hockey schools were constantly flooded with too many kids and NOT ENOUGH COACHING AND INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION. This is why I created West Michigan Pro Hockey School, TO MAKE A CHANGE.
In doing so, our camps run at a 25 PLAYER MAXIMUM AND 3 COACH MINIMUM guaranteeing our players the proper amount of coaching and teaching attention. Also, West Michigan Pro Hockey School is proud to have the best staff out of any hockey school in the state as EVERY MEMBER OF THE WM PRO STAFF PLAYED DIVISION 1 COLLEGE HOCKEY AND IS CURRENTLY PLAYING PROFESSIONAL. This is a very important aspect of our camps because I want staff members coaching our players that have been there and know what it takes to succeed at the highest levels.
Our camps run through a “training camp style format” where skill development, hard work, attention to detail, and improvement are the main focuses. I have attached the “Camp Newsletter” which includes the camp itinerary and further details of what we’re all about, as well as the “Camp Prizes/Sponsors” page detailing or new partnerships and great prizes for the players.
ALL GVAHA PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE A $50 DISCOUNT OFF THE CAMP FEE totaling $425 for the week.
Further details such as our focus, staff credentials, registration options, etc. can be found at our website www.westmichiganpro.com. Please contact me anytime if you have any questions or need any further information at warda@westmichiganpro.com.
Thank you, I look forward to working with you this summer!
